Bachelors of Orthotics and Prosthetics They are professionals who, as recommended by Physical Medicine Specialists/Orthopedic Surgeons, develop, produce and fit prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (braces, aids, attachments, and remedial devices for restrictive locomotor). Orthotic implants are supports used to strengthen damaged or ineffective joints or muscles or to fix physical defects, such as spinal deformities. Artificial organs and plastic cosmetic implants are the prosthetic products that they specialize in.
